Question:

Have to write a short graduation speech.. any ideas?

This year we have ten students with 4.0's making speeches. They still want to keep the ceremony to one hour, so they're asking that our speeches be minimized to "sharing a few words," kept at about 30 seconds. I don't want it to be the cliche "spreading our wings" or "closing a chapter."

Any nice quotes would be a great contribution too.

Help?? Thanks!

  1. try to add humor about yourself

  2. Graduation is a milestone in our life.

    The man who graduates today and stops learning tomorrow is uneducated the day after.

    Education make a people easy to lead, but difficult to drive, easy to govern, but impossible to enslave.

  3. "our quest is starting"

    "from now on, let's zise the day"

    "in the education we receive, we will change our world"

    "let's keep educating ourselves and providing a better society"

    "let's keep our dreams going, and achieve those with passion"

  4. Candy is dandy

  5. heres a nice quote, thoug i'm not really sure what it has to do with graduation. "at the end of the day, you ca either focus on whats t e a r i n g  y o u  a  p  a  r  t . . . or whats holdingyoutogether." lol. um theres a song its like "as we go on we remember all the times we've had together...."? maybe you could quote that. oo a slide show of pics of your class would be good in the backround?? oh heres some good ones:

    A memory lasts forever.

    Never does it die.

    True friends stay together.

    And never say goodbye.

    -Anon.

    "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away."

    say something about how you really are the future, as cheesy as it sounds lol

  6. Say, "The teacher stands in front of the class, but the lesson plan he can't recall. The children's eyes don't perceive the lies, bouncing off every @#$% wall."

  7. It's a little over 30 seconds, but I think it will go over well

    I would like to "share a few words" from Senator Margaret Chase Smith that she first delivered on the senate floor in 1950.  She was criticizing Joseph McCarthy for his campaign of terror against the American people.

      The words still ring true today.

    -------------------

    Those of us who shout the loudest about Americanism in making character assassinations are all too frequently those who, by our own words and acts, ignore some of the basic principles of Americanism:

    The right to criticize;

    The right to hold unpopular beliefs;

    The right to protest;

    The right of independent thought.

    The exercise of these rights should not cost one single American citizen his reputation or his right to a livelihood.
