The Osa Peninsula. It was like seeing the Earth as it was formed!

I LOVED Costa Rica. when we went, the thing that i most loved would have probably been the "Volcan Arenal" and Tortuguero.

I also loved the hotel "Orquidea's Inn" http://www.orquideasinn.com/

and " Hotel Los Coquitos"

Also all the tropical rainforests. The fauna and flora there is incredible.

I went to Costa Rica about 2 years ago and it was AMAZING! My favorite part was Arenal Volcano. It was awesome; its an active volcano that you can hike right to the base of. If you plan on going there, definitely stay at Arenal Observetory Lodge- it is where the Smithsonian scientists constructed research on the volcano years ago and now is a  place to stay. You can clearly see the volcano and it is very close. The hotel also has rainforest trails and one of them leads to a beautiful waterfall. I really, really hope you get to go there! I recommend the hotel, Arenal, and the country very, very highly!

We were in CR at the beginning of the month and we travelled through the country. I loved the best:

1) The Kioro Spa Hotel in La Fortuna. It's right at the volcano and has the most fantastic view to the volcano. It also has its own hotsprings!!! Very amazing place!!!

2) Hotel El Parador in Quepos / Manuel Antonio Area. The hotel was fantastic. Its by the ocean, but on top of the hill, so again you have the greatest views.

It has a free shuttle to the Manuel Antonio State Park.

Both places had so much wildlife. From exotic birds to monkeys and sloths...it was very cool

We stayed at two other hotels (Hilton Papagayo in Guanacaste and the Barcelo Palacio in San Jose) but they are not worth going to in my opinion.

Also while there you need to see the Rio Tercolas (sp?)...it's full with HUGE crocodiles.
