  1. I'm from Galway and having visited and spent time in most cities in Ireland I would be of the opinion of it being the best. I realise it seems a biased view but I have nothing to gain from saying that and most people dislike their hometowns.

  2. yeah. it's nice there and it's good to get away from the south. didn't do much there though cus there was a pool in the hotel.

  3. Yes! It's beautiful there. I went 2 years ago and I wish I could go back!

  4. Yep. It's lovely. But I haven't been there in a while.

  5. Yep, It's gorgeous, I spend nearly a week every summer there. I love it.

  6. yeh! loved it. spent a week there on my own a few years ago. visited loads of places and had a really good time. I went the first week of september and the weather was fab!

  7. Yes, I spent a summer there. The scenery is awesome. The people not so awesome towards Americans. But definitely worth going.

  8. YEAH LIVE 3 HOURS FROM IT NICE CITY THE BEST TIME TO GO IS WHEN  THE RACES R ON !!!x*x

  9. I come from Roscommon, a town about an hour away from Galway. I lived in the place 7 years and have no doubt it's the place I'll retire to. You can walk into a pub a stranger and leave a regular. It's small town atmosphere is wonderful as after a week or two you'll keep bumping into people you've met already. This can become a problem after 7 years hence my move but every chance I get I go back. I still get off the bus and meet someone i know within minutes!! Then it's off to the pub for the week! It's also the only city I know where you can walk to the countryside in half an hour but that's changing fast. Right beside Connemara, the Aran isles and Cliffs of Moher, you won't regret a visit to Gallimh!!

  10. I was in Galway last year. My great great grandfather came from that area.

  11. no

  12. No, but I would love to visit Ireland when I go to Europe.

  13. Galway is a lovely city - not as big as Dublin, but still very open, welcoming and lively. It is also situated on the west coast of Ireland which has spectatcular natural sights.

  15. No unfortunatly, i'd like to visit Ireland and different cities there.

It is my dream to descover these beautiful landscapes and monument like old churches, celtic crosses, places like dingle peninsula, kingsale, wicklow, moher's cliffs, etc...................

and of course listenning celtic music ( i like), go in a pub, descover other thing of my country.

What can we visit in Galway?

  16. Go there occasionally . It's a fun town, do lots of walking . Downtown has a neat walking area with lots of nice stores and even nicer Pubs.

I live about 3 hrs away now that they build a nicer road to Sligo and Letterkenny

  17. nope not been to galway but been to other parts

  18. Maybe someday I'll go back again to Ireland....If my dear old wife would only pass away...She nearly has my heart broke with here nagging...She's got a mouth as big as Galway Bay...

  19. Yes, a very nice place.

Many interesting places to visit - dont forget to go out to the Aran

Islands-an other world ! Also the cliffs of Moher.

Word of advice: dont bring a car, the roads araund the area are

narrow and full of large tourist buses - no pleasure to drive.
