  1. I live on site at one,Im the gold Knight going on my head Ha.Ha.

It starts in november come on downhttp://www.texrenfest.com/home.html

  2. No. Fairs belong in the Middle Ages.

  3. Many, many times, but most now just aggravate me.  Being a long time SCA person I have seen a start up renaissance fair go from helpful and appreciative to arrogant and disrespectful.

Anyway you will find a bunch of renfaire folks and merchants who dress up in renaissance and medieval themed costumes (as I am loathe to call it garb), they entertain you (the consumer) for money.  You will/be see jousting, armored combat, puppet shows, live entertainers such as comics, dancers, jugglers, fire-eaters, etc.

If you like the look and feel of the renaissance fair, you may want to look into a local SCA group www.sca.org or other re-enactment group, as there are several now.

  4. Not for a long time. It was kinda fun. I brought my Newfoundland puppy along, and he loved it (lots of people paid attention to him!)

The singing groups were very nice, too. There was lots of junk to buy, but I'm just not much of a junk buyer.

  5. I go to one every year. I'm up in Minnesota. At ours we got food, jousting, hand to hand combat, throwing tomato's at jesters, blacksmiths, plays, people in costume trying to buy kids for 3 pickles, and usual merchants selling odds and ends.

Oh, not to mention the royal court

  6. Yea, verily! They are lots of fun, and it's a great way to meet you local reenactment organization(s).
