Have u ever heard of 1?

I bought a parrot a few days ago its green with a red beak.everyone says it is a ring neck parkeet. i rang the old owner and he says its a alexandrea parrot but i cant find 1 on the internet.have u ever heard of 1?

  1. If you use a search engine and search for each name it shows two different birds. For what you said the ringneck parrot seems to be what it is

  3. Sounds like an Alexandrine Parakeet, they are very similar to ring necks but with larger, more substantial beaks!

    They are quite diferent in behaviour so I would check it out on Google there are a number of good sites where you can compare pics ( just to make sure :) and follow sound advice :)

Alexandrines are close cousins to Indian Ringneck parakeets but they are larger and have red patches on their wings (near the shoulder).  If the previous owner says it's an Alexandrine and it's got the wing spots it's an Alexandrine.  The only time you'll see color patches in Indian and African Ringnecks is with pieds and maybe lacewings but the lacewings won't be as prominant.
