I have witnessed several people being arrested for trying to smuggle illegal drugs back onboard a cruise ship after a port stop. Best advice is don't do it!

There often are dogs at the ports.  Be aware that if you break the rules of the cruiseline, they can confine you to your room and then put you [and your family/friends] off at the next stop and you are then on your own to get back home.
