If it's free, why the card details? If you use the word free, then it should be free. No card details and I bet it's not so easy to unregister.

What other scams have you seen like this?

  1. It's not actually a scam. The card details are necessary to take payments for the service should you wish to continue it past the free introductory period. The onus is on you to cancel your subscription before the end of the trial, but they are relying on peoples lethargy or forgetfulness to cancel.

As for other "offers" I can't say I've noticed them because I only look for those things of interest to me.

  2. Yeah i think the credit experian thing is a scam too, i went on entered all my details but could never log in. I requested new details but never recieved them, i rang them they said they would call me back and never have so i tried to cancel it and they wouldn't let me. I eventually had to call my bank who froze any payments from that account and had to said me a new card with new details. I'd rather send them a £2 postal order to a better run company in future. i Havent come across anymore, i think i learnt my lesson. finance companies who say free but still want your card details are to be avoided!

  3. The card details are also necessary to help confirm your identity.
