  1. Water: You can definetly drink Austrian water from the taps - some say it's one of the best in the world.

Public transportation: Vienna has a very good subway system, plus public busses, trams, trains etc.

You find more information on Vienna (like sightseeing, shopping, ...) at http://info.wien.at/article.asp?IDArticl...

Information on Visa requirements can be found at http://www.help.gv.at/Content.Node/HELP-... (English page).

  2. OK, let's see. (I live in the Greater Vienna Area, by the way.)

Yes, it's safe to drink tapwater. Excellent quality, by the way. Bottled water is readily available, but mostly carbonated. Not much demand for Evian & Co, though you can get it, too.

For tourist attractions I suggest you check Yahoo Travel or here on Answers, this has been discussed often before.

Public transport in Vienna is very good, there are subways and tramways, with trains and buses connecting the suburbs. No car needed, ever. If you leave Vienna, things get slightly different, although there is still a good railway network conencting the major cities.

Internet access? Depends on whether you live there, or come as a tourist. Internet is available everywhere, braodband almost everywhere, for tourists it's slightly more difficult, perhaps using aninternet cafe or similar.
