Yes, which I was not aware of until reading your question - but it seems that different parts of royal mail is going to be affected for about a week.

don't understand some of these responses. from what iv read over the last few days none of you use royal mail anymore, its all e-mail etc, and lots of you will be glad to see the back of it. so hey you should be thanking us for ruining your service, of course the competition will deliver your mail. if you live in a city and deliver more than about 20,000 letters a week. which the average Joe of course does. failing that royal mail delivers the final mile for everyone competition included. perhaps the government should have modernised first then opened up. not the other way around, but then I'm just a stupid lazy postman. and not educated like them,

i am in the south east kent area and we have just had post so the answer is no  but some areas have 1 day shrikes at the moment
