Women have been considered second-class citizens in various parts of the world at various times. But then again so have men. So why do feminists try to make such an issue about it?

  1. Think I'm not worried about the radical "classes" in India?

Just be men have been second class citizens in the past...doesnt mean we shouldnt stop women from being such today.

  2. When have men been considered second-class citizens because of their gender? As far as I know, this has only applied to certain groups of men, for reasons other than their gender. Do you have any links with more information?

  3. Read your history. Women were the  last to get the right to vote in the US. A woman could not have surgery with out her husbands permission, and these are just a couple of things. When I was going to have my second child by C-section they would not do the surgery till my husband signed the permission. If I tried to have the child naturally or went into labor I had less than 25% of survivle. I was 25 at the time.

  4. Because it's wrong.

Go back 100 years - women were considered to be property.

    That's slavery.

  5. For some reason I see this question as an excuse to give a link to your site, am I wrong?

  6. the same reason any persons have been underestimated and treated like less than what they really are. yes most of us males are phyisically stronger than females, thats the way we were created but not mentally stronger. may think differently but one cannot survive without the other

  7. When have men, as a gender, been considered second-class citizens.  Non-white men have been considered second-class citizens, but it had nothing to do with being men and everything to do with being black/Asian/Latino/Indian, etc.

Women, on the other hand, have ALWAYS been considered second-class citizens simply because of their gender.  And it still goes on in many parts of the world.  Have you never heard of the Taliban?  Or the brutal theocratic gender apartheid in Saudi Arabia?

This is why feminists "make such an issue" about it.

  8. Feminists are too far gone to realise it.

  9. When and where are men considered second class citizens?  If you are referring to men of a certain race, that is true, but at the same time men of another race were first class citizens.  Example: black men (and women) during slavery.  BTW, they did make a big issue of it - called the American Civil War and the Civil Rights movement of the 1960'.  If women fought for their rights as hard as blacks did, they would have equality by now.  Unfortunately, many women are brain-washed and affected by "the Stockholm Syndrome" effect and work against their own "sisters" in the fight for equality.  Feminism must first convince women that they ARE equal.  So many women believe, for religious reasons that the are nothing more than"helpmeets" for men, because one verse in the Bible says so, but preachers choose that one verse and use it to control women.  The Bible also writes of an equal creation in Genesis, but the church seems to overlook that verse, conveniently.

  10. So just because men have been considered second-class at times, that means women shouldn't give a d**n when THEY are. I thought we were all in this together.

  11. unfortunately , women have been treated unfairly throughout history , ......men have rarely been treated so

  12. Maybe because women had to wait to vote for the longest, they are alway's being called the weaker of the two sexes! Women do not get paid as much as there male-counter parts. Men alway's think that they can pull a fast one on a women in buying a car or repairing a car! These things put women on guard of many men!

  13. When have men been considered second class?  You need to do more research.
