  1. when my dog barks out the window I get up and stand between her and the window. She tries to get around me but I do not let her back at the window. If she barks I take a step closer to her pushing her away from the window even more. She eventually gives up and goes to lay down somewhere. Sometimes she goes back to the window after about 5 minutes(then I go and sit back down)  and if she lets out a peep we repeat the process. Usually the third time she goes to the window she just sits and looks out, no barking.

  2. Nope...that is what Electric bark collars are for!!

  3. No. I just feel annoyed. But throwing..never came across my thoughts to do that. Solution:Get a squirt bottle when your dog barks, It doesn't harm them, and you won't feel bad about it after you thought over everything you did at night.

That's a great way to stop barking if you can't afford a bark collar.

  4. Well, I've thrown pillows at the cats before (they beg for breakfast at 5am sometimes - breakfast time is not until 7:30 or so!).

    The dog just gets tackled.

  5. Or tearing your hair out?

    Two words - Super Soaker.

    Works in my house.

  6. not really.. My dog is very well trained, and when i say the word, she stops. So... If i would throw something at my dog, she wouldn't be how she is now. Throwing something at her changes everything

  7. thats why i live in a condo.

  8. haha i feel like that sometimes, but i usually just put his muzzle on or make a noise he doesn't like.

  9. :) No, they don't bark that bad. But I do spray them!

ADD- Judgerz, does your dog HOWL instead of bark?

  10. lol definately but giving them a spanken when its necessary shud get it thru there heads not to bark so much

  11. I've taught them at a early age not to bark. When they'd start to bark I'd make a noise to distrack them then give them a toy and play for a minute or so and they'd forget about the barking. Now all I do is make the noise and they stop!

  12. No I just say enough and they stop. 2 don't bark at all. Training has so many benefits.

  13. No-bark collars also work well (and you do not have to be within super soaker range)

  14. NEVER HIT UR DOG. Hitting dogs will only make their personality worse.

  15. as a rule, most of them stop.

but if the big pups in the kennels start "arguing" too loud, i go out with the hose. the only down fall is, the akita/labs LOVE the hose.

  16. I openly speak out about the preventionn of animal abuse and animal cruelty so nope I never thought of ever hurting any animal. Only a coward would ever hurt a defenselesss animal.

  17. My beagle is an odd beagle. He doesn't bark!

Add: No, he bays or cries!

  18. Felt like it, yes.  Actually done it, no.  For such a little guy when he gets a good bark going, he is quite the loudmouth.  My little guy is pretty good about listening when told not to bark, but there have been a couple of stubborn times that he doesn't feel like listening.  Thankfully he's small enough that when those times happen, I pick him up.  The minute he's picked up he quiets down really quick.  Then I just take him back inside and it's over.  But yes, it does get unnerving at times.
