Just curious. My family is from Punjab, India. I'm 16 and was born and raised in California, but my family is pretty traditional - they are of the religion Sikhism and the males wear turbans. After 9/11 my dad was verbally harassed with taunts like "go back to where you came from" because they thought he was an Arab Muslim.

Do you have any experiences like such?

I wasn't ever targeted in that way, but I was in 4th grade when the attacks happened and our teacher asked for our thoughts on the incident and one boy was like "why should be listen to a man [Bin Laden] with a diaper bag on his head" and thinking back I find it disturbing that a small child was already so cruel.

  2. It happens all over the world! I wouldn't say that it all started becuase of 9/11 but I am sure that it had an influence of some extent on the matter. But you have to remeber that war and brain washing will never end. Sorry to hear that about your family by the way. I believe it is crual and unfair.
