This has just been a topic on the local radio station. Examples have included, breaking suddenly if you're in a car, running out in the middle of the road; things like that.

Do you have any more examples ?

  1. I have stopped on the side of the road many times to pick up dogs that have been hit and taken them to the animal hospital..........but I dont think that it is silly........

  2. I jumped across a ditch to save a sheep that had its head stuck in a fence! Turns out that as I jumped I scared the sheep so much it managed to pull itself free and run off with not even a thank you!

  3. Yeah I tried to disguise a fox as a giraffe.

    It didn't really work.

  4. When i was a child , i saw a bird of prey , that i thought, was flapping about in a small river at the foot of a waterfall, so being the intrepid explorer that i was, i decided to try and rescue it by leaning over the edge of the waterfall with a long stick to see if i could push it away nearer the side, and as i prodded and poked and pushed the stick into the water it suddenly snapped with most of my weight leaning on it, i fell head first into the water , panicking and flapping and realising it was only waist deep as i stood up and regained my composure... i reached across to the bird only to find out it had been dead for a long time and it was a bit decomposed... i could have drowned to rescue a dead bird !!! my parents went mad when i walked home drenched and sodden with a rotten dead bird to bury in the garden...

  5. Around 18 years ago I was employed as a driver for a aeroplane company.  They were unveiling their new aircraft and the Queen was coming to see it.  We (14 of us) got our cars on a Sunday to train and get to know them ( Rover Automatics  big powerful motors) and my girlfriend at the time was there too. We then had to meet up with our boss.  Nice guy and he told us the ins and outs.  We had to check our cars in the morning for any strange things about it ( bombs) and keep it clean, no eating and NO ANIMALS. Well the first morning of picking V.I.PS. I had a simple pick up at the local train station.  We were to pick up these VIPS because they were either part of the build or they were here to buy the aircraft for big worldwide aircraft  companies.  I was driving along the local dual carriageway and there was this little white poodle running along the south bound carriageway.  As an advanced driver, I managed to warn other cars behind me to slow down and I then slowed down and managed to grab the dog and put her in the back of my car.  I then noticed a woman in one of the laybys and it turns out it was her dog.  I transferred dog over to her and got talking to her. I told her what I doing and told her I would have to go and get the car vacuumed because of the dog hairs, she turned round and told me her husband was the CEO of the company I was driving for and not too worry about it. I still did it anyway and when I got back to base I was called into the bosses office and was given a big thank you for the help.

Brilliant time and the only time I've helped a distress animal on the road.

  6. my hubby swerved on a country road to avoid a badger.

he put the front of his car into a ditch.

he got pulled out by a milk delivery tanker.

    we got the car fixed.

a week later he crashed it!

    the badger was fine
