Have you been able to control your dream?

Okay, I am 13, and in the past, I have tried, but failed to manipulate one of my dreams. The only time that I ever got close was when, unfortunately, I gained consciousness within one of my worst nightmares... However, although I attempted to bend the dream, I found myself disappointed, as I couldn't do ****, although amused of how screwed I was, and being chased by a demonic creature through a dark, abandoned town... Have any of you been able to bend your dreams, and or nightmares?

  1. Yes, but only rarely. I believe you can only do this if you are in a state of "lucid dreaming." This means you are aware you are dreaming. The only way I can change the nightmare is by confronting the thing, person, situation that I am so scared of. I must get close to them and try to understand them. The theory is that these scary people are a part of you. By befriending them, your psyche becomes more integrated, thus you become more whole, healthy, compassionate. . .Personally, my nightmares consist of n***s, death row, torture. Lovely, I know.

I find it easier to change my positive dreams-like when I decide I want to fly.

Dreamwork is fascinating. I suggest you take a look at Carl Jung's book on archetypes.

If you have this dream again, and you are aware, you should turn around to meet this demonic creature.

To have more lucid dreaming, you should keep a journal of your dreams ( write them down soon as you wake up or they usually leave). At bedtime, talk to your psyche and tell it what you want to dream about! Good Luck!

  2. i can control about half of mine.  I have to realize that i'm in the dream and not wake up while in that realization.  From there I can fly, jump, or control most of my actions.  I think it occurs to those who have lucid dreams.  You have to reach an extremely deep stage of sleep and have the ability for the dream to be extremely vivid.  Anyone can do it.  I've even been able to wake up, sit in a slight daze and go back to the dream, but it will usually be slightly changed upon the return.

  3. Wow,the luxury of yahoo answers...I wish I had this opportunity at your age(with  spell checker as a bonus),anyhow to the answer...I have the ability since I was about 35 ;to actually stop a dream ;go for a wee and re-start the same dream from where I left it! I think that's pretty cool ...and pretty scary?,considering that sometimes I go back to an"astral plane" that was actually a nightmare!  .Sleep Well.

  4. um....no, sorry try thinkin bout somethin else before you go to sleep at night like some1 you like or, this may sound stupid but find your happy place, like create your own little perfect world in your mind

  5. yepp!

    i threw rocks at a gang =DD

    its called a lucid dreamm

  6. You are so close to having lucid dreams!  Sounds like you became partially lucid (conscious) in your nightmare but not enough to take control. Next time you will figure it out from experience.

You can learn how to control your dreams in less than 7 days... its called the Lucid Dreaming Kit by Bradley Thompson. Here is my personal review: http://www.world-of-lucid-dreaming.com/l...
