What was it like? Did you mind doing it and was it for anything 'high profile'?

  1. No!

  2. No but that is one thing i would love to do

  3. yes, did not get a chance to serve after they found out that my dad was a cop.

  4. It was inconvenient but in the end educational. It was a small local court--a guy arrested for DWI. He brought in an expensive outside expert to testify that the margin of error on the machines could've meant the guy was innocent. I think the guy was drunk but it wasn't proven and he got off.

Some 60 years ago my grandfather was on the jury of a publicized capital case in a state where executions were common back then. They voted to convict, and then the judge ordered the courtroom sealed. He let all the jurors go home and no one was allowed to leave the room for an hour so no one could pester or harrass them.

  5. I have been called twice i hope i never will be called again , i was not compensated properly for my loss of wages and travelling expenses and the cases were boring to the extreme

  6. Yes I have been called twice. The first time was dreadful, a case of a little girl being abused by her stepfather, over several years staring at age 7, and her mother doing nothing to help her.

The second time it was easier. A shop robber caught on close circuit TV, and another case of a man with unlicensed firearms who had been shopped by his estranged wife.

We found them all guilty. One member of the jury wouldn't vote saying he did not want the responsibility.

  7. Yes. Good, two weeks away from work, paid and most days only lasted for4 hours or so. Nope not high profile.

  8. I was called and served on a jury for 2 weeks on a horrible case. Very horrific stuff (hearing details) and even though it was paid and short hours I would not do it again. Not very high profile but did make the papers.

  9. No. Really no.

  10. yes some years ago I served on a jury for just over to weeks

we found the guy guilty and he got seven years, and before he left the dock another 13 charges were read out, it was

a while ago when there was still a bit of justic in England
