  1. Yes, we've been on three, all with Carnival.  The ships were the Inspiration, Celebration, and Triumph.

The ships were all so different, but they were all great cruises in their own way.

When planning our cruises, I look for two things: the ports we want to visit, and a day at sea before we arrive back 'home'.

Half the reason we cruise is for the ports we get to visit, and the other half is being able to relax and enjoy the getting there.  Much better than driving or flying to get somewhere, to us.

It is true you can eat on a cruise ship 24 hours a day, everyday.  The diningrooms are open three times a day, the buffets more than that. The pizzaria and free room service are available 24 hours a day.

  2. i wish!!!!!!!

  3. I have been on 8 cruises, all with Princess cruise lines. The food has always been a highlight. Imagine eating gourmet food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week or more. One Cruise I went on last year was for 29 days. I really had to pace myself on that one. Every night I would go to one of their shows. You would see a singer or dancers or comedians and even odd shows like a ventriloquist. During the day if you were in port, then you go on tours or sight see or both. Back on the ship, there would be games at the pool or scavenger hunts, or dance lessons, or cooking demo's, or, well, the list goes on and on. To sum it up, cruises is the most relaxing and fun and adventurous vacation you can take.

  6. Only been on one and that was a couple of years ago - P. & O. Oriana from Southampton.

Loved every minute of it - you can eat 25 hours a day!  So skillfully planned that we ate non-stop and didn't put on any weight.

If you're thinking of a cruise, can I suggest you get yourself some bedtime reading in the form of the Berlitz book called Ocean Cruising & Cruise Ships by Douglas Ward (reputed to be the "World's foremost authority on cruising"

In some 700 pages he takes you through all the Cruise Lines and every individual ship of each line, marking them with a points system and telling you which group of people each ship is best suited for.  (Ocean Village, probably wouldn't suit a couple in their 90's for example!)

We're planning our next cruise next year.
