  1. I really like 13 coins. I had a steak sandwich and martini. What a combination 12:30 in the morning! What a great place!!

  2. The only advantage to going to the 13 Coins is it is open 24 hours a day including holidays.  I have had more than one Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner in a 13 Coins.  The Seatac one is pretty laid back and the service is slow.  None of the food is tremendous, but it is edible and sitting at the counter watching them cook is interesting especially if you are alone.  They have remodled the one in Downtown and I haven't been there since, but the service was better there and the salad was fresher.

  3. OMG, yes I have! Back in the late 1980s/early 1990s I was working for a vinyl siding contrator who was opening an office in Seattle. I was actually on vacation with my dad, but met the boss and the guy who was opening the new office there for a late dinner.

I don't remember dinner at all, but they ordered oyster's on the half shell for an hors d'oeuvres. I am not a big seafood fan, so I wasn't going to try them. My boss kept insisting and insisting. I finally agreed to try it, but as he held the shell up to my mouth, a black bug crawled out from under the oyster. That was it for me!!!

The thing that was really crappy was the restaurant manager wasn't going to take anything off the bill. My boss raised a stink and he finally took one order of the oysters off.

  4. I've been to 13 Coins a lot of times.  Mostly the downtown one, though I used to have drinks after work at the Seatac one when I worked at the airport.

I've ordered a number of different things and the food is usually good, but not great.  I prefer getting breakfast food there, as I'm usually happy with an omelette!  They have a good Prime Rib also!  The artichoke dip they had was good, though I haven't had it for a long time.  Stuffed mushrooms also good.

It's not the greatest food in the world here, but it is good food and it's probably the best 24-hour restaurant in Seattle.  I know I'd rather eat at Purple Dot or Honeycourt in Chinatown on the weekends when they're open late (like after the clubs close), but I often go to 13 Coins for a good meal!  Sitting and watching the cooking is an added treat!
