Have you been to Barcelo Marina Palace, Varadero, Cuba.?

I have been reading mixed reviews on this resort. If you have been please post your opinion. thx

Any where in Veradero is good if your going with a girlfriend or your wife.  If your single and like to party i'd recommend Santa Lucia (Camaguey) or Cienfuegos.

I have not been but I've checked the site. It's a 4*+ to a 5* and Barceló is well-known. I know the different types resorts in Cuba and this one looks like it would deliver what's in the photos and in their descriptions.

A suggestion would be to make sure you book a room that is on the 3rd (or 2nd) floor to avoid dampness and mustiness. Being a tropical place, lower floors can be like that more than upper levels.

Be careful not to let too many reviews scare you off. There are many people who are NEVER satisfied and should just stay home lol...there will always be something not good enough. Cuba has great food and Cubans extremely kind and hospitable.

From my experience, most people who have 'issues' are ones who actually have a bad attitude there. And I've seen people rude to the waiters and receptionists and others...so naturally they won't be received well.

Go and have an open mind and enjoy yourself. You seemed to have picked a nice resort. You'll make really nice Cuban friends for life.

ps: I decided to check some things on tripadvisor...I would take things with a grain of salt. The ones complaining sound like the ones I've always seen who are critical.
