  1. Chile is a very good choice to spend your study abroad.

I have been to Santiago and Vina del Mar on 2 seperate trips.  I have heard the South is beautiful.  The people are very very friendly and helpful.  I had a very good time-I did stay with family.  We went to clubs, and to the beaches.  It was safe, but of course you should not stay out late, wear jewelry out in downtown, or carry a big purse-usually my Chilean Aunts sling their purse over one shoulder because there are muggers. Write me if you want to know anything more specific!  Its a great place to go, careful with those Chileans, they will capture your heart!  ;)

  2. I have lived here 5 months. It´s a great place, but remember seasons are in reverse. In other words, come during U.S. winter months, much better as right now it is cold.

It´s a great place. Santiago is back and efficient. The beaches are close, the mountains closer. And the sites outside the city, man, incredible!

The wine is good and it´s cheap. The people are nice, which is good, because one downside is how fast they speak, their slang, and the way they drop letters off their words.

    But it´s a great place.
