And did you buy your kids any toys? I am boycotting all Disney toys from now on. Is it just me or do they last while your in the park and then for like an hour at home then they are broken? Even the autograph books pages fell out when we got home and the pen ran out of ink!

  1. you are okay buying clothings (hats, t-shirts, etc) because (as long as you follow the care instructions on the tag) they last a long time. and do you know why? because its free advertising. you are a walking billboard for their park, movie, character, hotel, etc. so they want to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

Some toys that aren't even disney toys don't last too long. that way they make sure you will buy more.

  2. I've been to Disney World before, and ALMOST ANYTHING U BUY THERE BRAKES IN ABOUT AND HOUR AFTER U GET IT!

  3. I have been to DL and WDW many, many times...for more than 35 years.

I'm sure my parents bought me Disney toys when I was little but I don't remember. Do I still have them? No...

As for now, I'm a Pin Trader and I collect the Disney pins. I have more than 200 of them and I have had many of them for more than 10 years (I actually started collecting before the Pin Trading took off in 1998). My pin book (the album I keep most of the pins in so they are protected...many are rare or limited editions and very hard to find) is good quality and I have never had a problem with it. It is a Disney brand album.

The only thing I had problems with was locking pin backs. They did not work well and I returned them. Disney refunded my money immediately.

  4. Lol I hear you! I've been to both and that is a marketing tool known as "Planned Obsolescence!" Made with a specific life expectancy, could be long but usually short to keep you coming back for more!!! My mother is coming to town Riverside California (60 Miles Inland from L.A.) for my son's 3rd birthday from Oregon and she is planning to take he and I to Disney Land so since I hardly ever go I will join the boycott of the toys!  I also buy toys for him at the local Disney Store in the Galleria and same problem although it might also have something to do with my son being under three and me having bought toys for him labeled for ages above 3!  Well Boycott on my friend, boycott on!!!  Just as an added note sometimes you need to look at all the items they have available cause some like in any batch could be that one defective one!!!  Hope this helps in regards to your feelings on this issue!

  5. I don't agree that toys bought in Disney are cheap and break really easily, I have plenty of stuff from there and it's still working fine.  As for the pens and autograph books, if you have a problem with either of them while in the parks just bring them to any merchandise store or guest relations, and they will see to it that they are replaced.  The pens sold in the parks have problems with the ink drying up and is usually solved by just shaking the pen up a bit, otherwise Disney would happily replace it for you.

Same applies for toys that are bought in the park.  If they break, bring them back.  Disney would rather lose a few dollars on some merchandise than have an unhappy guest.

  6. I have a pass and love to go. I used to buy stuff there all the time for younger siblings but the stuff sometimes is "cheap" and not in a dollars and cents way. Just take pics with them and maybe a churro and they should be fine =-)

  7. no but i hear its very good and has a lot of gift shops

  8. I went there when I was younger and my parents didn't buy anything for us..because everything was soooo expensive. They get broken easily and expensive. I totally agree with you! =)

  9. I bought toys for my kids during out trip to Disney World and they still work 2 years later. I don't know what your kids were doing to their toys...
