  1. i go every summer... i was born there but have been living in the US since i was 8. 1st time i went back i was 14 and i had completely forgotten how beautiful it was... the food, beaches, and ppl are wonderful. theres also always some kind of festival going on, especially in the summer. if ur looking for a more tropical place to go on vacation, sicily's the best! this summer it'll be my 6th time going and i never get tired of it!

  2. it is the most beautiful country of the world, and i suggest you to dedicate 1 week for every city you want to see during your travels there...

Rome is the eternal city, combining architecture, art, rennaisance, classicism, ancient times...

Each city has a different style from where you can find all the characteristics which mark its history all over the centuries

  3. If you want an unforgetable experience, go to beautiful NAPLES... it's inexpensive and it's the prettiest city in Italy... and the smell of the fresh sea air is something you will never forget.

  4. I'm Italian too..

it depends from what you want::

    roman ruins?

Rome, Naples, (&Pompei) and many other ancient buildings everywhere (Aosta...)

    greek ruins?

Sicily (Magna Grecia) Agrigento, Segesta, Selinunte, Taormina,Villa Armerina...

traces of the Byzantines: Sicily, Romagna (Ravenna)

    Puglia, ... "& Venice.."--trade

    traces of the Arabians:-->Sicily

    the crusades\ medieval ages?

Umbria (Assisi), Puglia(Otranto), Calabria, Sicily (the Normans... Arab-Norman architecture)

    Renaissance?

Tuscany (Florence, Siena, Pisa....) or Milano (Leonardo's masterpieces) Emilia (d'Este dinasty) Venice

Italy's Risorgimento--- Torino, Genova-- Piemonte (Savoia)

this is only indicative... you may find everything almost everywhere here in Italy if you dig enough...

I suggest you to visit Rome and Sicily, which has undergone the rule of many different empires...

    (natives, greeks,phoenicians, carthagineses (from Africa),

romans, byzantines, arabs, berbers, normans, aragonese, anjou, bourbon, savoia, italians... )

    it's pretty interesting, you know...

  5. I'm italian:

    Roma

    Firenze

    Siena

    Venezia

    Cinque terre

  6. Ciao io sono italiana

    baciiii!!!!!

  7. italy is simply amazing! you must must must go to tuscany. and the roman catacombs.

  8. i've been to rome, florence and venice-if i had to pick one i would go for florence-they were all beautiful-but there was just something about florence-the food, art, people, etc. wherever you decide to go in italy it will be worth it-i have been to italy, france, england and germany-italy by far was my favorite:)

  9. nope dunno .... nice

  10. It's a beautiful place and definitely not overrated. Rome is one of the nicest cities I've ever been to-- it has something for everyone: shopping, yummy food, history...!

Anywhere in Tuscany is gorgeous and two small, quaint towns I visited were Siena and San Giminano. Of course, if you're interested there's also Pompeii... very interesting.

I loved Italy-- you should definitely go if you can!!

  11. I love Italy....go there regularly, have lived there, have friends there, and eventually I am going to move there for good!

Italy is like no other country you will ever visit.  The food, the wine, the people, the land, the sites....everything is so beautiful and so vibrant in Italy!

Rome is a must-see city if you are interested in Roman ruins...everything you want to see will be within walking distance.  Definites to see:  the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Pantheon...I could go on and on.

Definitely also try to see the city of Florence (one of the cultural highlights of Italy).  For romance, go to Venice.  For shopping and fashion, go to Milan.  For the 'small town, traditional feel, and off the beaten tourist path", go see the town of Siena.

I hope you go to Rome someday and I'm sure you will have a blast!  Plus, make sure you throw 2 coins into the Trevi Fountain while you are in Rome because the legend says that if you do, one day you will return to Rome.  Everytime I visit Rome, I throw my 2 coins in, and I have been back to Rome each time!  : )

    Ciao!
