Have you been to Waikiki or Maui?

my family wants me to decide in between the two cuz we're going for my birthday. which ones better and why...?

It depends on what you want to do. Waikiki is located on Oahu and in Honolulu- a big city. So there is always lots of nightlife, and lots of shopping. But without a car, it will be difficult to get away and enjoy the more relaxed side of island life.

As for Maui, well where are you thinking about staying? Some areas are more resort focused, while others are more "local."

Personally I would opt to stay on the windward side of Oahu- Kailua (where I used to live) and Lanikai are my favorite. Second to that, I would go with Maui- I really like the Lahaina area (where my best friend is from).

Just do some more research and see which looks best to you. Hawaii is great, you'll love it  no matter which option you go with.

I will sugest go to Waikiki because this's a central of Hawaii tourism and if you still have time you can go to MAUI for short visit because is only take 30 minutes flight from WAIKIKI ( Honolulu airport ) to Island of MAUI and only cost you around $60 to $100 for roundtrip,have fun!!

hmm well i think you should go to maui. i went and its more.. hawaiian.

but if you can pick another island, go for kauai

its so relaxed and its absolutely gorgouse

if you do go.. make sure you take the napali coast tour on a boat. it was sooo much fun!
