Question:

Have you been to a ceremony/reception at a banquet hall?

I kind of didn’t like the idea in the beginning because it seemed a bit cheesy to me. But it is really convenient to have everyone under 1 roof and the package includes everything. The location itself is beautiful. So have you guys been to a ceremony at a banquet hall? How did it go? Was it cheesy? Did you enjoy it?

Thanks!

  1. Hey, that is what I am doing! One stop shopping... I mean the place is really nice though, check it out

  2. I have been to 2 and will be going to the 3rd on 8/29. It is convenient and if the hall is used to this set up it should be seamless and wlel handled. One that I went to had the ceremony in a different room than the reception. The other had the ceremony at one end and the tables/reception at the other. In both cases we were able to stay at the venue (hotel and resort) which was even more convenient. If you like the place and know they will do a good job then go for it!

    Good luck!

  3. We did. Our ceremony was outside - the venue we picked had a bunch of different places set up around the grounds to have the ceremony (we chose in front of the waterfall surrounded by flowers). Then we went inside for the reception (sit down dinner). Actually, most weddings I've been to have been at the reception site. None of them were cheesy at all.

It was very convenient (we were told so by many guests) and actually ended up saving us some money.

  4. That is how we did our wedding.

We had our ceremony at 4pm, and reception at 6pm. That way we could go out and get pictures, and the guests that wanted to go home and change could. It turned out really nice.

Our family stayed behind to help set things up for the reception since we had the wedding and reception in the same room. But it worked. =] good luck

  5. I didn't really like the option either, but it would have been SO much easier!  I just went to one on July 5, and from the outside, it was an ugly building.  But the inside was beautiful, and there were no problems there.  The cocktail hour and dinner came first, and then we went outside to the lawn in back for a sunet ceremony, and then back inside for dancing and whatnot.  If you can afford it, go ahead.  Give yourself piece of mind and have someone else deal with the details.

  6. I have been to a few and they were very nice.

  7. Yes, I have. The venue was REALLY beautiful, as nice as any upscale hotel ballroom. The actual ceremony was outdoors in the banquet hall's "pavilion," and then the reception was inside. I'm not sure how much planning was involved for the bride, but it seemed pretty simple - I know the venue provided all of the linens, dishes, DJ, etc, and all the catering was done onsite (including the cake). It wasn't cheesy, and it was as personal as any other wedding I've been to.

As a guest, it was really nice not to have to drive around looking for the reception venue after the ceremony, since everything was in one place. And it was fantastic to go in and have cocktails and appetizers ready while the wedding party finished their photos!

  8. I have seen weddings that are done in one place and theyve always turn out beautiful. In fact when my parents renewed their vows for their 25th anniversary they did it all at a community center and it turned out really elegant. I also would like to have mine at one place it would be good for those who are from out of town. Good luck to you. I hope your day turns out wonderful

  9. My ceremony and reception will be at the same location.  Two Ball Rooms!
