Have you been to any concerts/gigs in Shepherds Bush Empire (London)?

I'm about to book tickets for a gig there, and I just wanted to know whether it's better to go for standing tickets (which are in front of the stage) or the seats in the upper levels. I obviously want to get the best view but can I still get a good view from the upper levels, where I'd also be able to sit down...?

  1. Upper level seats are great, see a lot of action from there.

Early entry and get to the front so you can really rest on the balcony.

  2. I've never had seated tickets for Shepherd's Bush Empire, we've always had standing tickets.  The standing area is on the bottom floor is on slightly different levels.  When you come in off the street you go down into a few steps into the auditorium, there's a standing area with a bar directly in front of you then there's a few more steps you walk down to get to the front of stage.  We usually stand behind the bar, there's a fairly good view of the stage provided no 6 foot 4 *rses decide to muscle in in front of you.

  3. It's quite a small venue as far as concerts go.  It's more like a theatre than a concert venue and when I went both times we had seating on the top tier.  It was  a brilliant view and still easy to get to the bar, toilets.  The standing at the front is fine if you're tall I suppose.  I'm only 5 foot tall so it's seating for me everytime there!
