  1. I saw the tomb of Verrazano and later I visited Assissi and the home of St Francis. By his garments he must have been very small.

The Via Appia was on my daily walk to work. At night crawling with vermin and junkies.

In 15 years I will retire in Brescia if I am lucky.

Italy is like heaven to me,my grandma taught me Italian, customs, language cuisine and I miss it.

  2. I visited the Catacombs of St Calixtus earlier this month. They're very impressive because of the size and sheer number of tombs that they contain. Unfortunately, the parts that are open to the public are mostly empty. All of the grave markers and paintings are gone. And, of course, all of the bodies have been reinterred in other cemeteries or churches long ago.

On an emotional level, it's pretty much like visiting any other large graveyard. Makes you think about your own mortality. Inspires you with the amount of work that people will go to in making death feel meaningful.
