If so, how much did you save? Do they really offer better deals than you can get on land?

  1. I do book while on a cruise because the cruise line always gives on-board credit of $50 to $100 per person, depending upon the length of the cruise.  That's the main reason I book while on board, but also because I usually book a future cruise that is far enough in the future that I also get the early booking fare which may be a few hundred less than what the cruise sells for close to the sail date.  And I do usually go back and check close to the sale date to make sure that the price has not come down.

I would say there is no firm amount that you can quote as a saving always.  It's gonna vary by cruise and cruise line, but it will be less.

Booking on ship do not always offer the best deals.  I have found great deals by just looking at the web sites and checking for specials.  We did a cruise to the Southern Caribbean last year that I found on line and booked and for that date it was about $300 per person less than other dates.  I did the same with a cruise which I have booked for this December.  I saw an early booking fare online and recognized that a 7 day Caribbean cruise with a balcony cabin for $999 was/is a great deal.  So you just have to keep your eyes open and watch the web sites for deals.

  2. Yes, over 20 times. You can save two ways. A discount on your next cruise plus onboard credit. The savings of course depends on what cruise or cruisetour. Actually there is a third savings.

    1. Average $300.00 per person.

    2. & 3. is your onboard credit which is usually an extra $100. to $ 200. depending on the lenght of your cruise.

Princess & Norwegian still offer this savings.

  3. I never ahve but some friends did and they saved a couple hundred only bad thing was it was like a year away and you never know.
