Have you bought a fuel efficient car?

What did you get? How is the mileage? Is it safe? Did you get a C30? Where did you find it and how much did you pay?

My current VW passat tends to do about 43mpg.... my old car, a BMW 328i did less than 25 mpg, so yes... I do have a fuel efficient car.

However thats nothing compared to things like smart cars or hybrid cars.

Considering that I just saw an ad for a new Dodge Ram Pickup that was advertised as a gas saver; and it got 23 mpg; and my 16 year old Toyota PU gets 22 mpg today; I probably won't buy a new one.  I need a pickup in my hobbies.

I am considering modifying the bed to make it lighter, and cutting lightening holes throughout the non-insulated sections.

Another lost-to-time tradition that saved gas during WWII was the practice of "Freewheeling"

which is stll used by bikers today where the gear is disengaged during down hill descents.
