Have you bought the reusable shopping bags Walmart is selling?

They are only $1. I saw them for the first time today at our Walmart and bought 5. If not Walmart, do you use them at other grocery stores?

  1. Reusable canvas bags have been around long before sprawl-mart. I have not been inside a WM for over 15 years and counting. I am glad to hear they are trying to be a little better with the impact they have, but I bet those bags were made in China.

  2. yes I heard about them today...

  3. We got two for a gift.  When I asked where the person got them, all I got was "Walmart" for an answer.  The problem was that of the few employees I asked about where to find the black reusable shopping bags, none of them knew what I was talking about and I got sent all over the store.  I didn't know the price, so I didn't have that.  I was frustrated, annoyed and ready to leave the store when I found them, in the $1 area by the check-outs.

I know that they're washable, but I still feel the need to put my raw meat items (fresh or frozen) into a regular plastic bag before I put it into the shopping bag.  Anyone else feel the same way?

They apparently are not available online and the online customer service answers are too generic.  I'm trying to find out who makes the bag because I might encourage them to be used as a business promo.  Any one know who makes the bag and what the website is?  I would go into the store and ask, but I'm afraid the management staff might be just as clueless as their employees.  I found a few, but not sure if it's the right one.  Thanks!

  4. Ah, ha!  Wondered who might be selling them!  Had four several years ago, got lost in a move.  Anything to do a small part in conservation is great!

I'm going to purchase five or six, since we tend to do most of our shopping in bulk.

  5. I bought a reusable canvas bag without the need of buying it to support walmart, lol.

I got mine at Ikea and ever since then...it's been handy to bring around. People sometimes give you the googly eye, but its worth it.

  6. I got one for Christmas.  At our local store, you have to buy them from the customer service desk so they know that you own them if you have them in the store.  They are thinner than I like.

I have yet to use it.  I like the Acme Workhorse and Chico Bags better since the fold up and fit in my slacks or jeans pocket.  As a guy, I like not carrying one in hand all the time.

No matter which bag you like, I recommend reusable bags.  If you need to give some up for the environment, why not make it something you will never miss like disposable shopping bags.

  7. Our WM stores does not have them yet.  I've seen them other places, but I don't use them.

  8. there great- i dislike walmart, but eh i bought one anyway- when i was in europe they were at all the sainsburys and boots pharmacy... places like that but its nice that its catching on here- some stores will give you a discount for using them, generally .05 cents for everybag you would have used. just because the're walmart doesnt mean you cant use them everywhere!

  9. NOPE

  10. I prefer plastic, and it is simple to burn them later, in my burn barrel.
