Have you camped in France recently?

Hi,

I'm looking to take my 3 year old and my tent over to France in early August, does anyone know any good, not too expensive sites around the north or north/east , preferably not too far from a beach.(don't want to stray too far from Calais as never driven abroad before.)

Also, this is probably a stupid question, but the electric hookup's that we use in the UK, are the connections universal or would i need an adaptor or new hookup to use on the continent? (talking abou the actual connection to the mains supply.)

Thanks!

  1. The connections are usually the same, but sometimes you may need an adaptor which you can buy in the UK. There are some great sites in France and would suggest you buy a camping book or look them up on the Internet.  We tend to use camping cheques sites, but these can only be used during the low season and work out £10.30 inc. electric hookup. and are truly great value.

Municipal sites are usually not very expensive and most towns seem to have one.

    Happy camping

  2. Cant help you too much but all you need is a travel adapter to switch from UK three pin to european two pin. Buy in the airport
