Have you ditched your plastic water bottle in lieu of stainless steel?

They keep single use plastic out of landfills and minimize unnecessary recycling, and don't leach chemicals that are harmful to your health. The cost is reasonable, depending on where you buy it!

If you have, do you like it? Do you notice any difference with the taste?

  1. I use a stainless steel coffee mug.  Plastic always made coffee taste awful.

  2. I switched over to a recycled steel bottle some time ago.  The taste is the same, maybe just a bit "cleaner" (though it could just be in my head).  It was just another simple, positive step I took in being a better person.

  3. Glass bottles or jars work great and are cheap; and they come with juice or jam in them! Just don't throw them on the floor....

  4. I don't have stainless steel, I have a reusable plastic water bottle.

And the leaching of chemicals from reusing plastic water bottles turns out to be a myth.  Really the only concern is bacteria, so you just need to wash them out every so often.

  5. I have never carried around a plastic water bottle.  I can't stand them.  Instead, I've always used my British WWII 8th Army canteen. It is great for coffee, or any single malt smoky scotch.  For water, I use a jerrycan (Wehrmachtskanister).

  6. Yea...we have a few of those Sig bottles.  They're great.  I stopped buying plastic water bottles a while ago.  We have a well, and we just use tap water.

  7. I rarely use a portable bottle, we have pretty decent water in my area. I usually use a glass and filtered tap water, even in the car. I have however purchased a few Sigg water bottles for my family when we are out of the house, no one seems to taste a difference.

  8. we put a filter on the faucet so we no longer buy water in bottles but fill off the faucet

  9. The plastic soda/water bottles are washed then reused in our house. We fill them with water and add powder lemonades. Any extra bottles are filled with water and stored in the freezer. Frozen water bottles take the place of the blue ice blocks, and can be refrozen when needed.

  10. Our family switched to Klean Kanteen stainless steel water bottles several months ago.  We think the water tastes cleaner, but we mainly did it to be healthier and kinder to the environment.  www.reusablebags.com has a pretty okay selection.  That's also where we found stainless steel travel mugs in the 20 oz size for our coffee.

  11. yeah, i just a plastic reusable one.  i refused to drink bottled water all summer, i think it taste weird and like plastic and is so stupid unless your like at a concert or park or something and really need it.  but i have to have water at school or ill get super dehydrated, so i got a reusable one :)
