Why would anyone want to eat a fish that can be toxic?

Did you know that homeless people in Japan died during WWII because eating Fugu made out of the Pufferfish?  It was the only thing available for them so they paid the price. The pufferfish is known for its great toxicity in its concentrated venom... It is leathal to consume unless it is prepared by a professional.

There's many Japanese Restaurants offering it as a meal but... No, thanks... I am so glad I am a vegetarian..!

Yes, I had it while on vacation in Japan in 1991. Obviously I'm alive to talk about it.  I don't remember what it tastes like but I do know that it was nothing special. I'll never order it again.
