Hi, I am looking to move to Canada with my family, (I qualify to move through the Canada government online check), basically, we have decided to move to Alberta and would like to know if there are any places/companies or people that can help with the move and all of its legalities. We need to find somewhere to live and arrange jobs (wife is English teacher and I work in fire safety). We know what we want and the general area (medium/large town - near Calgary or Edmonton, need good value for money, education and medical care), wife is diabetic and will have to apply to British court to take child abroad due to step daughter biological dad (alcoholic) being around, so need to prove we can improve our childrens life by moving. Thanks.

  1. Even if you qualify from an online check, you still can't move until your work permit is in order.  Alberta has a website at http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration... where you can see which jobs are fast tracked for immigration.

I also have a couple of reputable employment agencies for you: http://www.aimshumanresources.com/ and http://www.pathfinderconsulting.ca/

You can also try looking for jobs yourself at http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/

One option is also coming over alone to look for jobs.  I would definitely not bring the whole family on a tourist visa with the intention of moving.  Getting your work permit will probably take at least a couple of months and you would have to leave the country to get it issued.
