Have you even fallen for your really good friend, been rejected, then he/she wanted you later in life?

I've fallen for one of my best friends. He said that he doesn't know if he will ever feel anything for me (I'd rather have him as a friend than not at all) and at the moment isn't in a place for a relationship. Am I foolish to hope one day he will like me back? Anyone ever have a similar situation where he/she eventually did return your love?

Er. Not really.

I mean, I suppose if I WERE to fall for a close friend of mine that I knew was strictly heterosexual, I would keep it to myself. I mean, no use in making things awkward just because I have a little crush.

Of course, I don't really tell people when I like them anyhow. SO. &shrug;

most of my exs were friends for several years before we entered relationships. one in particular was a friend for 20 years before we got it together. sad though we don't talk anymore and i miss the friend
