The Irish Consulate is requesting a certified copy of my Grandparents' "marriage license application" -- NOT their regular old marriage certificate. The problem is, when I called the local marriage bureau, they act like they've never heard of such a thing and keep insisting that what I actually need is their "long form marriage certificate for use in a foreign jurisdiction." When I told this to the consulate, they acted like THEY'D never heard of such a thing. And now I really don't know what to do or what it is that I truly, actually need. Any advice would be greatly appreciated -- more than you know, actually!
