I decided to get some breakfast just now (17:00) so went to my local store to buy some milk, waffles and rolls and this guy on the checkout was miaowing very loudly indeed (I think this may have something to do with better customer relations).

When I went to pay for my items the guy miaowed at me so I went "woof woof" he then miaowed back I went "hisssssss" and just before I left I looked at both him and the lady who served me and slowly said "I'll be back" leaving them laughing.

Its funny, I've never seen anyone at tescos smile, ever. Maybe thats what made me barking (woof woof) mad in the first place.

  1. I worked for a grocery store for about 5 years, & we always had a good time & became a family of sorts.  Although I hadn't worked there for 9 years at the time, a few of my former co-workers attended my wedding & we still keep in touch til this day.  However, I don't ever recall meowing at our customers.  To be honest, a lot of grocery store employees here in the U.S. are friendly to the point of being annoying.  There was a 7-11 here where there was this rude lady.  I was a regular there, but hadn't been there for a while because we had moved to a different area of town.  I was in the area when I was about 7 months pregnant, & stopped at this particular 7-11 for a snack.  The lady who had waited on me numerous times in the past told me "You've gained a lot of weight".  I told her, "Yeah, I'm 7 months pregnant" &  she didn't even apologize or say "congrats" or anything.  I haven't been back there since.  She should be grateful that I wasn't being particularly hormonal that day...

  2. Perhaps I should try that - all the employees at my local grocer act like they're serving out a death sentence. Ask one of them where the coffee is located and they get a dolorous expression on their face and let out a heavy sigh.

No, I have never had to bark or meow at anyone.

When I briefly worked retail, no one ever answered my greeting. The old farmer types used to ask me how tall I was and if I was married, as if they could purchase me to do what I don't know on their farms.

At my sometimes-second job, a lot of my "customers" bark and meow at me, but they are dogs and cats.

    :)
