Have you ever became a hero?

Have you ever became a hero? If you have; what did you do to become a hero? If a person has a boring and hard life, and dreams about becomming a hero; what would you suggest to that person?

There are plenty of heroes who have boring and hard lives.

Also, 'hero' is a term others give to you - you can't really give it to yourself.

True heroes usually don't view themselves as heroes.  They often see their actions as what should be natural and right.  They may get some satisfaction from helping others but really they do what they do because they truly believe it is the right thing to do.

Therefore it would be best for a person with a boring/hard life to aspire to be an inspiring, happy, healthy individual who makes productive contributions to society rather than simply becoming a hero.  It is much deeper than that.  If you aspire to inspire you will likely become a hero to someone.

You can be a hero everyday by just making someone else's life a little easier.  You don't need to swim into a rip current drag out a child and do CPR on them to be a hero.  You can help an old lady cross the street, let the person who is stressed and in a hurry at the airport go in front of you.  Give someone a high five.  Really if you contribute to bringing happiness to others you are a hero, at least in my book.

Yes, I work at a homeless shelter and I help many people.  They tell me I'm their hero, though I just think I'm giving back to the community.  My suggestion to those wishing to become a hero is: Go out and volunteer, be a big brother or big sister to an underprivileged youth, help feed the homeless, donate blood, volunteer to read to a sick child in the hospital, tutor children, feed the hungry, clothe the homeless, help someone out of a stressful situation, or just listen when someone needs to talk.  All of these things can save lives or better the lives of  others.  Believe me, whoever you help, will believe you are their hero.
