I was in town today and I wanted to buy a borgeois (sp?) lipstick. I picked it up but then my 18 month old son started kicking and screaming and at the same moment my phone started to ring.

I ended up putting the lipstick in my pocket and leaving my mobile phone on the shelf of the shop.

The security guard was really nice (when the alarms went off as I left the shop!)

and the cctv showed that it was a genuine mistake... but... has anything like that ever happened to you?

  3. No that's never happened to me but some day it probably will. Lol. I bet a lot of people do that. Or quite a few anyway. Common mistake.

  4. No! I was never caught.LOL.

  5. NOPE...

  6. no, only when they forget to take off the security tag after i paid and the alarm goes off then they know they forgot and i paid.

  7. My brother works security at JC Penny's. Its funny as h**l when people purposely steal and act like they dont know whats going on, only to get searched and find TONS of jewelry on them as they say "whos is that?" Its good that you were cooperative though lol my mom tried on earings once nad forgot about it and walked out. no alarms haha

  8. no ....so glad though... would be embarrasing.

  9. It hasn't happened to me, but in a small town where my mom lives in rural Missouri there was this old man who was notorious for being a bit forgetful. Well, he buys a pair of overalls and forgets to remove the tag. He goes back to Wal-Mart where he had purchased them and is doing a bit of shopping. When he goes to leave, they nab him at the door and make a huge fuss about him being a crook. Basically humiliating him in front of half the town (about 3,000 people). He gets very angry and states that he bought the overalls just the day before. He is escorted to his vehicle where he produces the sales receipt. Then he hires a lawyer and promptly sues the store for defamation of character and wins $2,000 for his trouble. Only in America.

  10. I once had a security guy follow me around the shoe shop section of a very large store.

I have no idea to this day what he thought I could steal ... a dozen half pairs of shoes, anyone?...

Anyway, he actually took hold of my arm at the elbow.  I asked him "Are you accusing me of something?"  To which he flustered 'No'  I warned him that if he didn't remove his hand I would regard it as assault or false detention.  He just backed off, I'd love to know what was happening in that brain of his.  It annoys me thinking about it. I reckon he just was on a power kick and picked the wrong guy.
