Few people survive a bite from a female black widow.

Most people will say they survived just to sound cool. That or it wasnt a black widow.

Ive seen plenty black widow spiders, never touched though

*added* - Being that 5% of *reported* bites result in fatality, with many not even needing antivenom, I don't think "few survive" is accurate.  Those are confirmed bites where the spider is positively ID'd by a professional.
