Have you ever been bitten by an insect, that almost took you out. if so what was it?

Please try to avoid being bitten by "anything", but that blaten Brown Recluse Spider, can kill you! it got me over 3 yrs. ago and it affected me for over 2 yrs. Thank God He spared my life, and closed up the extra large crater in my foot.

A Bald Hornet stung me between my eyes and it was very painful.  

I'm a beekeeper and get stung all the time and it's no big deal, but the Bald Hornet put me in intense pain..

A scorpion got me. It made me sick for a couple days, but that scorpion didn't make it.

Well, it didn't "almost take me out" but I had scabies once about 10 years ago, (there was a small outbreak on my ship), I almost scratched all of my skin off.

  I girl I used to work with got bit by what she thought was a brown recluse, they said those spiders didn't live in our area, but she saw the spider and swears that was what it was. She spent weeks trying to heal the crater in her leg.  Since I know what those "craters" look like, I am relieved to know HE healed you and that your poor tootsie is back to normal!

Not an insect but, a black widow got me. I lived, the spider died.
