  1. I went to a hypnotherapist once to try to stop biting my fingernails. I didn't think it would work, but he put me in a trance. Hard to describe...it kinda felt the same way as JUST before you fall asleep, except I knew I wasn't going to actually fall asleep. I was breathing slowly and deeply as though I was sleeping. My mind was totally calm and he gave me a signal to use for whenever I felt the urge to bite my nails. He told me when I performed the signal (which was to press my thumb and middle finger together, the urge to bite my nails would cease. He didn't make me bark like a dog or hop on one foot or anything. When he took me out of the trance, I didn't snap out of it like on TV and I wasn't all like "What happened....?" I just kinda woke up and felt like I did before the trance, albeit somewhat more relaxed, and I remembered what he told me during the trance. It was interesting. The nailbiting signal did work too, the problem was that I'd forget to do it and go straight to biting my nails. But when I did remember to do it, it actually worked. I only went the one time because it was a free visit, but it was an interesting experience.

  2. I've hypnotised my friend before. I made him look into my eyes, follow my finger, then made him stare at me. I then randomly shouted out "SLEEP!" and he dropped to the ground.

  3. Years ago, I saw a hypnotist for weight loss.  I had several appointments.  It worked for about 5 years, but then wore off.

  4. I did to quit smoking and it worked.  It was like being asleep.  Nothing scary.  And remember they can't make you do anything that will hurt you or anyone else.

  5. no was going to to try quit smokeing but did it by my self  but think its intresting
