Have you ever been in a sport and later quit? If so, why did you quit? Was it hard for you to quit? Do you wish that you hadn't, or would you quit all over again if you had the chance to change it?

  1. I played basketball in 7th grade i played for about 3 months then i quit, i quit because one of my teammates was too competitive with me and she always had to be the star player. no it wasn't hard for me to quit, if i wasn't so shy in school i probably wouldn't have quit.

  2. Swimming - Graduated college

    Soccer - Got bored

Gymnastics - Grew too tall too fast

Skateboarding - Moved, no one skated (started back up a few years ago)

Mountain bike racing - Job Conflicts

BMX racing - Went to MTB racing

    Wrestling - Injury

    Football - Injury

    Baseball - Just plain sucked

Hockey - parents thought it was too dangerous

Yes I do wish I would not have quit skating.  I was off a board for about 15 years and started it back up in 2005.  I wonder how good I would be; would I be one of the 60 or so people making their entire living from skating?  Don;t know.

  3. I played tennis, used to play a lot and then quit due to shoulder injury.  If it weren't for the injury, I probably still be out there hitting the ball.

  4. i played girls softball for a while and i love softball, so it was really hard for me to quit. especially considering one of my best friends was on the team. i quit because the coach taught us apsolutely nothing and i was very happy after that tho. all the coach taught us was nothing she made us run laps if we said a cuss word which i dont cuss but her daughter was on the team and she cussed. but the coach didnt make her run laps. it was really aggravating. if u really want to quit then just do it. after a while ull realize it was for the best

    hope i helped

  5. i tried wrestling in freshman year.

i quit after a few practices for a two reasons.

    1) it took every afternoon and left me with no time for friends or homework

    2) i didn't like how the matches functioned. (scoring, starting)

i somewhat feel like i didn't give it much of a chance, but i would probably quit all over again.

  6. I took tennis lessons, and I quit because I thought it was time- consuming (it really wasn't, but I was young,) and I kind of got bored of it since I was with kids younger than me. I wish I hadn't quit because now I do it, and it is so much fun and I am really good now! I also did gymnastics when I was younger, and I quit. I don't really know why I did, I got bored of it too. I really wish I hadn't because I really enjoy it now, but I'm too old for my level since I quit so early. I guess my opinions on things I liked just changed over the years.

  7. NO...NO...NO

One of my Hard and Fast RULES for my kids is  "If you START a SPORT...you FINISH that Sport!  For that year they must keep  their commitment to their Team and their Coach...NO Quitting Allowed...if they Decide the next year that they Don't want to do it again then fine...But you know something? I have Never had one of my children want to Quit...Both of my girls (13 and 17) have Cheered, one for 5 years (so far) and one for 8 years (this is her last year) and my oldest Ran Track for 1 year...she decided she didn't want to do it the next year but she stayed with it for 1 Season. My Son (14) has played Football for going on 6 years and Wrestled for the same...never wanted to quit...You see The-Stick-To-It Attitude and Mind-Set will Help them through-out their lives in EVERYTHING they do.
