  1. no

  2. I've never been in prison, but i was in jail for a brief period of time. It was noisy and crowded and you had no privacy whatsoever, believe me, I learned my lesson, I'm being good now so i never have to go back.

  3. you talking US or Brit ???

  4. Most likely they will stay in the Jail... Not go to the real "Prison".

It won't be a stay at Holiday Inn but 30 days won't really cause any harm.

Hopefully it will make him think on his life and make some changes that will keep him from ever having to go back to jail ever again.

  5. its good fun really. We got to play with the PS3, sit on the computers - go to the gym. Jolly good.

These prisons are more like holiday resorts to criminals these days....

  6. I don't think he/she has got much to be worried about. Our country looks after them well; more money is spent on each inmate than NHS patients and school meals: and recently £221k has been spent on PlayStation's to keep them happy etc.

  7. hi, its not so nice when your banged up with nutters mate

  8. You are probably thinking of jail, which is a county facility, which is used for probation sanctions or violations, rather than a prison, which is used for felons and can be located all over a state.  Jail has terrible food, is overcrowded and has nothing to do whereas prisons usually have schools, jobs, and other extra-curricular activities.  Unless the sentence is a condition of probation and represents an actual sentence, the sheriff is free to give "good time" to the prisoner, so your loved one may get lucky and do only 2 weeks.

  9. There are different types of prison. I went to one that was clean, they had good food, wore suits. And they had learning classes, a library. keep busy. And there are some that are crowded, food is awful. men just sit around doing nothing

  10. I have never been to prison but i hear it's like a holiday camp.

  11. 30 days will be in a county jail not a prison, however i worked in both and they are not pleasant places to be, in prison just take the worst neighbor hood you can imagine and you can sum up what is there, in county jail it is a more relaxed atmosphere and does not have the amount of violence related to a prison setting.~

  12. Ordinarily you get raped by another inmate.

  13. Hi. Is it a male or female? I got out of HMP Newhall (womens jail) after serving 7 weeks. Basically I was terrified at the thought of going in but in all honesty I had a good time. It is not frightening at all, the women were great and we had a right laugh. It's also a bit of a break from normal life. You get 3 meals a day, a tv in your pad, you can have all your own clothes brought in. You get opened up at 7.15am to go to work, if you don't work you are opened up at 10.30am for outside exercise, 11.30am lunch behind your door. Unlock at 1.30pm and back to work. Non workers opened up at 5pm for tea and association til 7.30pm. I was a wing cleaner and laundry orderly so I was one of the priveleged ones where your pad door is open all day and you can have in cell association with other workers, otherwise no one is ever allowed in your pad (not in womens jails anyway). If convicted you can spend £14 a week private cash plus your wages. If you don't work you get 50p a day behind your door money, which £1 for your telly comes out of. So long as you are having private cash sent in you will be alright.

If you keep your head down and just get on with your jail then its ok and the screws will be alright with you. If you kick off and make the screws jobs hard then they will make your jail hard.

On a 30 day sentence only 15 days will have to be served so it's not that long. I am sure the person will be fine.

Hope this answers your question for you

  14. it depends on the facility;usually people who do 30 days are fine

certain incarcerations though are truly h**l on earth for jailtime:

tell your friend to be more careful--most people done time would rather

die than go back to "real" jail. Why do you think that is? Just be aware

of that, don't think about it too much.

  15. Maximum you do is half if this in England
