Have you ever been mugged?

Wow, so on my way out to visit my cousin (she lives in a pretty sketchy, suburban area) I stopped at a QuikTrip for some gas, expecting to get in and out as fast as I could. As I get out of my car, another car pulls up to me, and the passenger opens his door and yells "Gimme your f****n' money!" I'm only just 18 years old and this was the first time it had happened to me...so I pretty much just froze and thought to myself "Oh sh**, I'm dead." Thankfully after a few seconds they peeled away and drove off. Anyways, I just got home and figured I'd vent it on here. Has anyone had similar experiences?

  1. OMG, you had an angel watching over you tonight. I'm so sorry you had to go through that as such a young age but I'm happy to hear you didn't get hurt. You can replace your purse and or money... but an injury would have been horrible to heal emotionally, mentally and physically.

To answer your question, no I have never been mugged but I have been followed and almost attacked out walking later at night, Thank God my (then) husband just happen to drive up the street at that time.. he got out of the car and chased after him. It still gives me goose bumps to think what JUST ABOUT happened.

Take care of yourself and don't let it freak you out to the point that you start getting scared of life. (that it's gonna happen again) Be thankful you are safe and sound.

Try to think about the one and only positive thing about it... if you like to shop... you now have a reason to go out and buy yourself a new purse. I'm not making fun... just trying to put a half laugh in your life right now.

    Take care!!

  2. Yes, clubbed me on the back of the head with a cricket bat, then when I ran one of the little peckers down and beat him like a bi&ch, and took my money back, I was the one arrested for assault.  Tried and convicted, "you must not take the law into your own hands"  That's British justice for you, let the rapists and violent criminals out early and give a criminal record to the victims because they are an easy target.

  3. Only by this labour government.

  4. no, it didn't happen u shouldn't ask this question

  5. Yes. I was robbed under knife point when I was working in the lab of an inner city university in Detroit. I was horrified and angry.

  6. Only once, by two men in a dark street. No threats, just an arm across my throat from behind and dragged down, one going through my pockets. With my windpipe blocked I panicked and fought, afraid of being choked. Luckily a car stopped and they ran off, without my wallet.

Could hardly talk and a few bruises afterwards. You have got to be careful sometimes.
