I've never been on a cruise and was wondering if anyone can describe their own cruise to me.

What stood out the most?

What was your favorite thing of being on a cruise?

Thanks!

  1. I have been on seven cruises.  I have written fairly long reviews of the last three.  Below are links to the reviews if you are interested in reading them ...

    October 2005, NCL Star - http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreview...

    April 2006, Carnival Glory - http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreview...

  2. The food. When you go on a cruise and weigh in at about 120 after the cruise, if it is a week long cruise you get home and weigh 135. The food is fantastic and they give you tons.

  3. I have been on many cruises. Each one was different, some better, some worse. What stood out the most depended on the destinations and what I did there. Seeing the world from the deck of a ship in the middle of the Pacific does give one a sense of their smallness, ESPECIALLY if you catch part of a storm at sea. It is all in what you bring to the experience, that will determine to a large extent what you take away from the experience.

  4. Fun fun fun,  No cooking, cleaning, nothing!  You get what you want when you want it.  The staff is fantastic.  You can try foods you would never dream of trying on land cause you know if you order in a restaurant your stuck with it. Not so on a ship you don't like it you get something else.  But that has never happened cause the food is always terrific.  Sailing in beautiful waters.  Water so pretty and blue or turquoise you won't believe it and clear some ports you can see 150 ft down.  I love cruising I think it is the best bargain in the world!

  5. the friendliness of the people and crew.  it's a small floating city.  people are all in a good mood for most part / leave troubles at home.  you leave after one week thinking you have new best freinds. you promise to reunion  .  it never happens.  it's like summer love.  you know ?

    bittersweet.

the ocean is beautiful and you can get really far away from your worries when you are at sea.

  6. I was on a cruise 3 times, all rated A+++. First time 16 years ago, the most impressive, it's beautiful, like a first class in everything, and basically you can get everything you want in a holiday. What stood out the most is there are all sorts of people, what I mean old people on a wheel chairs, just as happy can join a lot of activities, my 2 kids, one 7, one 11 also, running around, sometimes with us, sometimes with the kid's leaders, sometimes on their own, had a thrill of their lifetime! The 2nd time, 9 years ago, the best ever for a family together, and yet, each of us can still pick and choose according to individual interest. The last time 2 years ago, we have a family gathering of the sublings, the best way to enjoy your holiday with family reunion. My favourites: it's hassle free, as you do not need to look for hotels, resturants, figure out the most economical way / items and pack annd unpack and haul your luggage on a daily basis
