Yes and no.  One time I got a ticket for an open container, which I gladly paid.  Another time I got a ticket for blowing a red light.  Cop told me to get myself home and sleep it off.  Come to think of it, that happened twice, a few years apart, in Florida and in Texas.  And there was one time in California when the cop didn't give me a ticket, but told me to park it and walk home or get a cab.  Yep, definitely there were a few times I could have gotten it a LOT worse than what I got.
