yes, I assume it was a 12ga, I did not actually see the shotgun, just hit with the pellets.

hobby?? NO!

No, especially if you are holding the shotgun and I am shooting back with a 9mm handgun.

yes and there are plenty of off shoots no pun intended for the sporting gunner ie skeet, target etc

Being "at the business end" means a loaded gun is being pointed at you.  It is not a sport or hobby.
