Question:

Have you ever been so grateful to Yahoo Answerers?

After so many people told me that reestablishing breastfeeding after exclusively bottlefeeding for 2 weeks was almost impossible, I defied the odds and now have my milk back.

The only support I got was Yahoo Answerers (particularly Mystic) who supported me providing advice, links and their personal experiences. I'm on my way to exclusively breastfeeding again my diary intolerant baby and I wanted to say to all of you THANK YOU!!! My heart is back where it belongs.

Have you got a story to share where someone on Yahoo saved you?

  1. No story yet, but well done you!

It must take nerves of steel to re-establish your supply.

  2. no.

i never take anything people say on here seriously.

  3. No story yet but I love Yahoo! Answers when I need to ask a question about my boys or my pregnancy. Also, it's a good place to come when I (finally) have some time to myself.

  4. Yes!  My boyfriend proposed to me right before my younger brother's high school graduation party.  My new fiance and I were really torn because we wanted to tell my family, but I didn't want to take my brother's day away from him so I asked Y!A.  Everyone said wait until after my brother's graduation festivities.  It made me feel so much better about not sharing my good news with them. When we did break the news my mom was a little upset that I didn't tell her, but understood, and my brother was very grateful that I let him have his day.

  5. I haven't been round here long enough yet, but I wanted to say how fantastic it is that you persevered with trying to re-establish breastfeeding, and that you were successful. Mystic sounds like a great contributor :-)

  6. I rarely post for parenting advice here.

However the computer programming part of my brain needs help now that I am stuck in "mom mode".  I have had a few people not only write a bit of tricky code for me, but also help me to understand it.  Which is above and beyond.  So many people also take the time to e-mail you back and forth beyond the simplistic help you can give on Yahoo Answers.

Personally I view helping women get accurate information and support during breastfeeding as the little bit I can give back at this point in my life.  Charitable work is hard to do with two small kids, and I certainly couldn't find the time (or childcare needed) to be either a La Leche League leader, lactation consultant, or midwife.

Yahoo answers can be a great place.

PS And as to the one or two people lately who seem to think I am "horrible" and need to be banned because I post the same answers over and over (to the same questions being asked by different people over and over).  Or think I am stalking them (I'm not).  Grow up!

You see how ANYONE can e-mail me, IM me, and view my questions and answers?  I'm not hiding.  But e-mailing someone and not allowing response is very immature.  I don't hide, its pretty easy to find me and discuss any problems you have with me.  And while I do use a screen name its the same one I have used for over 10 years and basically the only one I use everywhere on the web.

  7. THAT'S AWESOME!!!

I can't believe people told you it was impossible!  I've known women to re-lactate after 3 months.

My story - Isn't from the parenting section, but, I'll share anyway.  My computer was seriously about to crash, it had BAD viruses on it.  I was so scared of losing all my pictures and everything.  Then this Yahoo user was so nice to walk me step by step to get my computer back to normal!!
