  1. I have been to Benidorm quite a few times.

Its a place worth a visit, even if you only go once.  At one time the main strip would cater for all ages, but over the past year or so, it mostly aimed at under 30s.  Obviously if you go on the main strip, all the bars are there, you can step out of one and into the next.

However if you go down the 'yellow brick road', you can find other bars that cater for all ages.  This is where I tend to go.  Most bars offer entertainment.

Benidorm itself is extremely built up full of high rise hotels and apartments.  I have stayed in Rio Park half-board and cannot fault it.  I have also stayed in Paraiso 10 Apartments self-catering and that is good too.

The beach is a nice long stretch along the front and a good walk.

All in all, worth a visit.

  2. i live 30mins from Benidorm and ive been quite a bit when i was in my teens, but now im 20 i dont go often, only really went for the shopping centre but now we have one closer and i went for a few nights out, it is great for english people on holiday because there are ton's of Brit's there and it has a great night life, but i find it way to British!!!!!

  3. Yes I have, three times, and despite what some people say about the place I always have a great time there.

Benidorm is about entertainment, and if you don't enjoy yourself there you probably won't anywhere.   It is without doubt the best place in Spain for entertainment, and arguably the best anywhere in Europe.

It's also a great base for seeing other parts of the Costa Blanca, and you need to because Benidorm is NOT all things Spanish, although the Old Town is more what you might expect Spain to be like.   A short train journey will take you to Calpe, Denia or in the other direction Alicante.   And there are a host of FREE sightseeing trips, half day and full day, to places like Altea, Villajoyosa, Guadalest, Murcia, Moraira, Jalon Valley & Caves.   Included is a short bedding demonstration but no pressure is put on you to buy.

Then you have the theme park "Terra Mitica", with over 50 rides, and "Mundomar" (sea world) with it's exotic birds, seals, sea lions, turtles, flamingos and, of course, dolphins.

There are some great hotels, most of which cater well for people from the UK as far as food goes.

And of course, you have the sun which is out for the majority of the year and two good clean beaches.

Benidorm receives 5 million visitors per year, so it must be doing something right.   I love Spain, generally, and as much as I have enjoyed myself in Benidorm, my preference is for the Costa del Sol & Andalucia as a whole.

But if you want a lively, fun holiday Benidorm will give it to you in large doses.

  4. No!

  5. Have you ever watched the TV series Benidorm - well that gives you some idea of what it's like.  For me the Brits spoil it with their larger lout holiday mentality.  For a day trip it's ok as it has Terra mitica a big theme park, aqualanidia (water park) and mundomar (zoo).  I don't like Benidorm but thousands do.
