  1. Right now it is overcast but there has been little or no rain today, it is a bit humid and showing signs of warming up.  Tomorrow they are predicting sunny skies and a temperature of 21C (I will believe that when I see it) but it is supposed to drop back down to around 13C on Sunday.  The weather here is changeable, it can go from cold and wet to warm and sunny, and back again, within a short time frame.

Chilliwack is mainly agricultural although there has been quite a bit of residential growth over the past few years.  It is located in the Fraser Valley and there are several lakes and rivers in the area with a number of camp sites.  Activities include white water rafting, hiking, sailing, water skiing, wind surfing and there is a nearby ski resort (Hemlock) for winter activities.  There is a variety of people and, like any city, good and bad areas.  There are several festivals here starting in May and running through to the fall.

Main recreation areas include Cultus and Chilliwack Lakes with white water rafting and kayaking taking place on the Vedder River.  A short drive away, and across the Fraser River, you will find Harrison Hot Springs which, as the name states, is a hot springs area.  Harrison Lake is quite nice though subject to sudden squalls.  There are also several smaller lakes in the area with several campgrounds.  Provincial Parks in the area include Cultus Lake, Chilliwack Lake, and Sasquatch.  There are a number of golf courses and two seasonal water slides in the local area.

  2. Yes, I live an hour away in Surrey. It's a nice city, small townish but has a large commercial area. It's flat farm land area, kinda the plateau before the rocky mountains.

  3. I personally don't mind Chilliwack, the Island (Vancouver Island) is the place to be. Lots of overcast and rain the whole winter, ranging from 40-60 (Using farenheit as I'm guessing you're from the US, I'm in Canada though.) on average during the winter, with nice, warm summers in the summertime. The people are nice, just like the rest of the country, and the city is alright. It's definitely one of the better cities in BC, but if you're making it for a tourism trip, it's not the place to go. Have a fun time.

  4. Was just there this past February. Its a gorgeous city. Beautiful mountains everywhere, the ocean, weather is great. Typical BC weather (rains a lot, but is basically mild the entire year). The people are very nice, totally laid back. Just had a great arena "prospera centre" open up last year, its a gorgeous facility.
