Well I have for the first time this past March. I'm an 18 year old senior in high school and my 15 year old sophmore friend Tabatha was with me when I was designated driver for my mom and cousin. They went tout clubbing well we stayed at my grandpas untill they called to leave. We pick them up and they are like ''we wanan go to Dennys were starving.''. So we go to Dennys and there were so many drunks there it was hillarious. Me, Tabatha, & the workers were like the only sober people pretty much. My mom and cousin kept having all these dudes come to our table and flirting with them which is embaressing so Tabatha & I moved to the table behind them. There were some drunks fighting and got kicked out. There were drunks that couldn't walk and saying/doing funny things. When we left there were a dude and chick getting in a verbal fight which was hillarious because they were so drunk. The people that night were so funny. Tabatha & I were laughing throughout the whole experience. lol =p

  1. I went there totally hammered, and saw this family.  I started hitting on the mom, and this girl that was siting with them

  2. Of Course the Drunks hit Denny's at wee hours. The bars have closed and they are darn hungry and too drunk to cook for themselves.

Most drunks that go out to eat are happy drunks, otherwise the cops are called on them in about 15 seconds.

At least these idiots that forgot a designated driver spend enought time eating and drinking non-alcholic drinks that they  sober up enough that they won't kill someone one driving on  the way home.

  3. Lot's of different types of people congregate at Denny's or Waffle house at 4 or 5AM, at that hour there aren't many choices.

I've seen junkies, drunks and my family physician at the local Waffle House at 4 something in the morning. I am a local radio host and work late nights.

The type of restaurant you describe is  kind of like a "test tube"  because it's the only place in town usually to get something to eat and you are going to see something that you don't see in the daylight hours, usually.

  4. I've been to denny's plenty of times after the clubs we go to on weekends. Also, have been sober and had drunk ppl around us! It's been tons of fun!

  5. On several occasions, visiting friends in Pembroke, NC, we would go to Denny's early AM.  The Denny's just happened to be located inside a Holiday Inn and the bar/lounge was next to Denny's.   If I had my video camera, I could have won $10,000.00 on America's Funniest Home Video's.  As you said, the drunks were not violent, they were quite funny.  After the first trip, we went back several more times at the same time for the entertainment.  The Waffle House drunks aren't as entertaining as the Denny's drunks.  Go again when you need to laugh - it's really good for stress!

  6. Absolutely, after clubbing new years eve we went out to the dennys at like 4:30am. There was 14 of us, it was great, we were loud and food was being thrown around.  We were all over 21, so when you are 21 you can enjoy simple joys like this as well.  LOL, my friend and I used to go pick up my parents at the bar when they were "ready to come home" too. Those were the days...

  7. Heck, I was one of the drunks.... my sincere apologies for my species.  As for myself, I never bothered anyone in Denny's when I was drunk, and probably drove myself home immediately afterward, which shows the food helps to sober one up.   Glad you thought they were funny, but most of the time, drunks are not funny.

Once upon a time, there were "three for ones" which meant you got a triple drink for the price of a single, and boy did I have some meals trying to avert hangovers.  That's really what's happening at Denny's.  If you don't barf up the alcohol, it can just sit where it is, because your gut doesn't want any more, and so your brain is getting poisoned.  If you eat, then the food absorbs the alcohol and gets it out of your system faster.... it's still not a bed of roses, etc.

Denny's = about 2 to 3 pm, full of drunks trying to recover before they pass out completely.  Kinda sad.  Not funny if you are a former Denny's drunk.

  8. Denny's only tastes good when you're drunk! It can be an alright place to chill in the wee hours of the morning after the party. Can't say we've ever done anything "bad" though. Being drunk doesn't override the fact that we're civilized.
